Online Astronomy Courses and Tutorials - Learn astronomy with these online courses, degrees and tutorials in astronomy and cosmology for amateur astronomers, stargazers and would-be astronauts. The Mechanical Universe - The Mechanical Universe helps meet different students' needs, from the basic requirements of liberal arts students to the rigorous demands of science and engineering majors. This series is also valuable for teacher professional development.
Astronomy: Journey to the Cosmic Frontier provides a complete description of current astronomical knowledge, neither at an extremely technical level nor at a level that fails to communicate the quantitative nature of physical science. Although this textbook is not an on-line course, there is a rich collection of supplementary material on-line.
Navigating the Cosmos - Spring 2000 I am teaching Astro 346 in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Also, I am advising the Physics and Astronomy Club, and am continuing the development of laboratory exercises for the Astro 125L lab course. Last, but not least, I have assembled a team to develop an on-line astronomy course, provisionally titled "Navigating the Cosmos". Links will be added here as that develops. --Lee Anne Willson
